Gambeson – Jack

Fabric armour that can be worn independently or in conjunction with chain mail.
Outer layer – linen
Filling – 18 layers of raw linen
Lining – linen
This jack is traditionally styled using medieval iconography and is designed to be practical in battle, even more so it is not something you would wear under armor as instead it is an armor piece by itself and was often worn over chainamail. Complete with splint armor it provided a cheap and reliable protection which made it highly popular in mercenary armies. It weighs about 6kg.
