Long underpants used in middle ages, tied with a string at the waist and at the bottom of the legs. Worn under the early type of hose, and thanks to the four trimmed holes, they can be tied to them. This is one of the basic elements of historical attire, however, contrary to appearances, in the past it was not as widely used as it is today. Visible in many medieval sources, among others, they can be found in the Maciejowski Bible or illustrations from the Ducal Palace – Dijon.

  • As standard, they are sewn from natural color linen with a density of about 180 gr / m2. Historically, linen of this color is correct.
  • White linen and other colors and fabrics are available on request.
  • All holes are trimmed by hand.
  • Please remember that linen will shrink slightly after the first wash – so we advise you to order a slightly larger size. The size table is in the footer of the page.
  • If you need larger sizes than available, we provide tailor-made sewing, which costs an additionall 15% from the regular price.Do not be fooled by medieval images where you can see snow-white underwear even on peasants and the worst knave. Natural linen will brighten over time, especiallywhen exposed sunlight. Iconography should always be looked at with caution and deeper understanding.

Like all our clothing it can be hand or machine stiched. However, we always follow the principle to finish visible elements manually.
