Moselund tunic (Denmark) was dicovered at the end of XIXth century in bog. It was made around of year 1100. It is only surviving exemple of clotches called in sagas as blaðakyrtill. Oryginal was made in woolen, probably with lining. It is characteristic that front and rear are different parts of material, what is more, the rear is wider. Gores and slit in front and back provides comfort of using.

Similar clothes is depicted in all Europe. It was worn during work anf fight as it shows us famous Bayeux tapestry. But clothes preseved to our times, like Moselund’s tunic, can tell more about sewing it. Place of found – Denmark – let suppose that similar tunic Normans worn in all Europe.
The Moselund tunic can be made of linen when it is to be lighter, e.g. for summer heat or from a good quality woolen cloth when you want to use it all over year.
