Pavilion type tent 5 x 5 – Linen

Pavilion, a historical tent with a roof supported by a central mast and two-metre long side stakes. Pavilion tents of this type have been in use since the 17th century. There are no evidence of it being used in the medieval period.  Similar designs were documented around 17th century and they kept on appearing in later periods. This pavilion tent is 5 m wide, 5 m long and 4 m high, with 2m high walls.

We use deciduous wood such as ash, beech, birch, etc. to make the tent frame. We can however use different materials, excluding pine trees.

As a standard, the pavilion is sewn from thick linen fabric with a density of 540 gr / m2. Good quality linen fabric will not soak through even after during prolonged, optionally it can be made out of impregnated linen which is rot resistant and hydrophobic . The tent can be adapted to individual preferences. We can also paint it with historical motifs.

• Tent sheet – roof and walls in two parts,
• Wooden frame,
• A set of wooden tent pegs,
• Handmade ropes,
• A decorative crowning of the roof,
• Sturdy cotton transport bag

• Hand forged steel pegs
• A set of handmade sturdy hemp ropes and steel pegs to make the tent more resistant to heavy weather
