Cotton canvas – 1,5m wide – 360 gr/m2

Cotton canvas for tents is 360gr / m2 heavy and has a width of about 150cm.
It works great as fabric for historical tents, sheds and tarps.

The standard cotton canvas for tents has a natural ecru color but we also have other colors available. The color card can be found in the footer of the page or by clicking here.

The fabric is rot resistant and waterproof thx to impregnation made in factory.  We do not do it on our own. Therefore, it will last a long time if used properly.

Cotton canvas is popular mateiral for sewing tents, because it is light and it has attractive price. It was started to cultivate in ancient India. Cotton was bring to Europy by Arabs in medieval times, then it was cultivated in Italy. In XVIII century the development of cotton production in England and America had influence on its lower price and greater availability. It was popular to using cotton to sew clotches and tents for the people from lower class.

Today impregnated cotton canvas is using to sewing early – modern period tents and from the earlier ages. They are light and inexpensive and they provde hught comfort of using. Cotton’s tent we can see at almost all reenactment events on the world. Cotton canvas could be uesd for sewing the new tent, or to improve your own tent.
