Knight’s doublet that is a hybrid of English and continental fashion, because it has elements of doublets fashionable in the fourteenth century from these regions.

It is a tight fitting garment that adheres perfectly to the body – it has a double armpit cut. The doublet is padded with sheep fleece on the chest to emphasize the male figure – it was a popular procedure at that time. Basques are quite long, according to fashion from the late fourteenth century. The collar is made of decorative silk brocade carved into the characteristic Gothic “V”. The Knight’s Dublet sleeves are tight and have a small cut at the wrist fastened with hand-made material buttons.

In the Middle Ages it was usually made of woolen cloth and linen lining. This element of dress was the basis of clothing in the Middle Ages and until the seventeenth century.

  • Like most doublets, it has holes for attaching the hose- all hand-trimmed.
  • The doublet has a natural linen lining and five pairs of lacing on the front as standard.
  • Knight’s Dublet available in standard sizes, as well as tailor made.
  • Please select silk brocade patterns individually.
  • Offered wool colors are in the footer of the page. Please specify it at the end of the order.Like all our clothing it can be hand or machine stiched. However, we always follow the principle to finish visible elements manually.

The proprietary name we use is only our trade name because such doublets were worn in many regions of Europe.
